The first image features Herbert Lom as the King of Siam, giving his heir "Crown Prince Chulolongkorn" (played by Timothy Brooking) advice on how to behave when he is king. The second scene shows the children with Anna. This production was performed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1953.

Prints are stamped on verso.

The Gernsheims were early collectors and strong fans of McBean's work, and he is highlighted in "The Gernsheim Collection, Harry Ransom Center," University of Texas Press, Austin, 2010, page 300.
