Set of two facsimile albums of French celebrities in the realms of art and science. Each album contains a collection of photographs, reproduced and pasted above mock hand-written notes on each personality. The first album, dated 1860-1920, highlights individuals such as Edgar Degas, Anatole France and Cora Pearl. The second volume, dated 1865-1905, includes Jean-Léon Gérôme, Frédéric Passy and Pierre and Marie Curie. Each album contains 12 pages of photographs enclosed in an elaborately detailed cream cardboard cover with maroon drawstring.
