About This Image

This is a tintype portrait of a young man who worked as an American Express messenger with his signed American Express Co., Chicago, Fond du Lac & St. Paul RR messenger pass pasted on the back. The Chicago, Fond du Lac & St. Paul Railroad was only around for 4 years before being acquired by the Great North Western Railway.

This is an extremely rare piece. Tintype has some damage (visible in scan) due to occupational use.

Please contact the gallery for a quote on shipping and insurance costs. If applicable, residents of New York will be charged sales tax. International clients will be responsible for their VAT. Please note that we do not ship internationally on items under $1,000.
