Signed and dated with edition notation "Edward Weston 1933" 2/50 in pencil on mount below the print. Negative number and date "74N 1933" in pencil on verso. The model pictured here is Xenia Andreyevna Kashevaroff, then Xenia Cage after marrying the avant guard musician John Cage in 1935. Xenia was part of the art scene in New York in the 40s and 50s, as well as being the print conservator at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. In 1933, when Xenia was 20, Weston photographed her. This print along with the others in the series remained in her possession until her death.
