The Poirier studio was a daguerreotype establishment located in Bordeaux at place de la Comedie from about 1850 and 1860. The company is listed in Voignier. There is a nice studio label with company name and address on the verso, which indicates that the company also produced paper prints and gave photography lessons. The dag itself is much nicer and clearer than the scan indicates. Almost all the spots are on the glass and the image itself is very sharp with nice tinting. It is in original seals, although the glass passe-partout mount is cracked on the left side but well away from the image. The buttons, belt and leaves on his collar really pop and are lightly gold toned, but you can still see all the detail. Really a wonderful image and well priced.
Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
