About This Image

A beautiful depiction of a snowy pathway in a New York park. The position of this shot is very interesting, the high angle draws attention to the curved line of the park benches and lamp posts. A new perspective of an everyday landscape.

Grunzweig's stamp on verso.

Grunzweig was born in Prague and escaped to the US from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939, settling in New York City. He is particularly known for his documentary photographs of NYC, but he also traveled extensively around the United States and throughout the world. Grunzweig died in 2009, just short of his 99th birthday.

Grunzweig's work has been widely exhibited and can be found in many important collections including the Museum of Modern Art (NY), the International Center of Photography, the Jewish Museum (NY), the Israel Museum (Jerusalem), the Cooper-Hewitt Museum and the Seagram's Photo Collection.

Please contact the gallery for a quote on shipping and insurance costs. If applicable, residents of New York will be charged sales tax. International clients will be responsible for their VAT. Please note that we do not ship internationally on items under $1,000.
