About This Image
A marvelous still life of architectural decorations from the workshop of the architect Julien Gaudet with stamps of both Julien Gaudet's studio and a blindstamp of Lampué's on the mount just below the margins of the image. Title written in period ink on the mount.
Jean-Pierre Philippe Lampué ran a studio specializing in fine art photography and architecture first at 237 rue Saint-Jacques in Paris, and then later at Blvd. de Port Royal 72. He exhibited architectural views at the Societe Francaise de Photographie in 1876. The studio was in operation from the early 1860s until about 1890.
