"Dona Rose", a 60-year-old potter, makes the Black Pottery that the area is famous for. The pottery has not changed for generations and is made without the use of a potter's wheel and is the result of a special firing. Photographer's stamp, roll and frame number and caption on verso. John Lewis Stage is an American, born in 1925, active in the 1960s, who lives in New York. He is included in the International Center of Photography Encyclopedia of Photography. His work was included in the International Exhibition of Photography--"The Camera as Witness", Expo 67, Montreal. His work is in the collection of the Center for Creative Photography.
