Signed and dated in the negative. Little is known of Lory, who worked in the 1840s-50s in Reims, France. He is listed in Voignier. Lory was given awards by the Academie de Reims in 1840 and 1852 for his daguerreotypes, but he also worked in paper calotype negatives and salt and albumen prints.
