Signed and dated in pencil with various inscriptions in pencil and ink and the artist's stamp on the verso of the mount. This photograph is part of a previously unknown group of images by Stettner, which were made during the period when he lived in Paris and occasionally assisted Brassai. Stettner's abstract and graffiti photographs beg comparison to those by his "master", but they have a very special character of their own, more akin to the paintings of Tapiés, whereas Brassai's are closer to his friend Picasso.
