Mark Anthony Neven du Mont was born on August 10, 1892 in Gudenau ,Germany. His father was a famous painter, who left Germany and the family publishing house and went to England with his wife and three sons.
Neven du Mont became a British citizen and was active in photography from about the 1920s-1940s. He appears in Auer and Auer's database. The family doesn't apparently know how, when or why he took up photography, but he was apparently a talented amateur, taking modernist experimental images when most English photographers were still heavily involved in Pictorialist salons.
Neven du Mont died in England on February 23, 1972. His work is in several collections, including that of the St. Louis Museum of Art.
