About This Image

La Madeline can be seen in the center distance. Signed in ink on image. By 1919 William Odiorne had worked as a photographer in three major cities, Boston, Chicago and New York. In Chicago, he worked for the well-known pictorialist Eugene Hutchinson. He also lived in Paris from 1924 until about 1930. His Paris images are some of his most sought-after photographs. He returned to New York City in 1932 and worked as a photographer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and had a commercial studio. After WWII, he moved to San Francisco and then in the mid-1950s to Los Angeles where he made a living as a retoucher for a Beverly Hills studio. He retired in 1977.

Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
