Photographer's blindstamp on mount. The sisters are posed and dressed almost in daguerreian style, probably on purpose. William Rau was a famous Philadelphia-based photographer who took mammoth plate size Pennsylvania railroad scenes. He was the son-in-law of noted daguerreian, Civil War and Western photographer William Bell.
