Born in Germany of Russian descent, Igor moved to the United States as a young child in 1938 and began studying music. He received his B.A. from Harvard University and held his first concert in 1959 in New York. He was a proficient harpsichordist, fortepianist, duo-pianist and clavichordist and performed both classical and contemporary acts in numerous international symphonies.
