French actress Catherine Damet began playing young and beautiful ingénues in films in the 1940s, such as Henriette in Bernard père et fils (a short film) and the naïve 18-year-old Agnès Leroux in the 1946 film, Mensonges, for which this image is likely to have been a publicity still. She played in many other films in the 1940s-50s, including Columba, Suzanne et ses Brigands, Wicked City and the High Life.
