Houghton, Mifflin and Company, the Riverside Press, Boston and Cambridge, 1905c. Privately printed edition limited to fifty copies. Hard Cover, with 10 full page mat silver photographs with printed tissue guards with bits of Whittier's poems. Plus one photograph serves as the page for illustration index. One image is of Whittier himself. Photographs are by Harriot Langdon Pruyn Rice, Worthington, MA. Cover is dirty and worn. Binding is shaken and loose on one side (a small chip from the top of the spine), but all contents are accounted for and the interior is in very good condition. Needs rebinding, Off-white cloth hardbound copy with green type and art. No dust jacket, but probably never had one. The photographs, which are mostly about winter farm life, are quite attractive and in very fine condition. Extremely rare.
