About This Image
Signed on mount.
The Belgian photographer E. Sergysels (Brussels) is mainly known for his architectural photographs from the 1930s. With Willy Kessels he made the book "l’Architecture moderne en Belgique", 1937. As a professional photographer, he specialized in architectural photographs. His photographs illustrated the tourist book, "Belgium, Some Little Known Towns" and Charles Dessart's 1948 book, "Bruxelles".
Lesser known is his Pictorialist work from the period before the first World War.
Although of high quality, these photographs were only rarely published. He often used the Bromoil and Bromoil Transfer process during this period.
