Signed and titled on the verso of the mount in pencil.In 1900 Rev. Palmer co-published the book, "East Africa in Picture" with Elsie Ashwin, providing all the photographs for the book. Apparently he was part of the London Office of the Universities’ Mission to Central Africa.Rev. Palmer was very active in the amateur salons and exhibitions of the day, especially in the U.K. He showed numerous times at the Photographic Society of Great Britain exhibitions from about 1886-1897. The Reverend Palmer took first prize in an amateur photography category in 1903. His residence was in Clevedon, Somerset, U.K. at the time. He also entered the Kodak contest of 1905 and placed 64th in his category.He is listed in Cambridgeshire Photographers, 1844-1990 by Mike Petty. Apparently some of his photographs are in the collection of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society.
