AIPAD Elects New President, Officers and Members of The Board For 2013

The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD), a non-profit organization comprising the world’s leading photography art dealers, has announced that Catherine Edelman, Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago, has been elected as AIPAD’s next president. Her two-year term will begin on January 1, 2013.

“Catherine Edelman, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her gallery this year, has made a substantial contribution to the field of contemporary photography as a dealer, a publisher, and a curator. Her experience and insight will be of enormous benefit to AIPAD,” said Stephen Bulger, current President, AIPAD and Stephen Bulger Gallery, Toronto.

An AIPAD member for more than 20 years, Edelman opened her gallery in 1987. Catherine Edelman Gallery quickly became established as one of the leading galleries devoted exclusively to the art of photography in the Midwest.

“No other organization has the depth and breadth of experience in fine art photography that you find with AIPAD,” noted Edelman. “I look forward to building on the goals and accomplishments of Stephen Bulger and the board as AIPAD continues its mission to grow, representing the best dealers working in photography today.”

AIPAD has elected four new officers to serve with Catherine Edelman. Kraige Block, Throckmorton Fine Art, New York, will be First Vice President. Roland Baron, Gallery 19/21, Guilford, CT, will be Second Vice President. Susan Herzig, Paul M. Hertzmann, Inc., San Francisco, will serve as Treasurer. Steven Kasher, Steven Kasher Gallery, New York will be Secretary.

New members of the AIPAD Board of Directors include Kim Bourus, Higher Pictures, New York; Missy Finger, PDNB Gallery, Dallas; Charles Hartman, Charles A. Hartman Fine Art, Portland, OR; James Hyman, James Hyman Photography, London, UK; and Robert Morat, Robert Morat Galerie, Hamburg, Germany. AIPAD board terms are for two years.
