DESCRIPTION:Extremely rare and possibly a unique print, certainly a very early print made before Baldus signed the paper negative. According to Malcolm Daniel's book, he made a series of photographs of the Hotel de Ville in 1852-53. Baldus probably made a gift of the print when he visited Petiot-Groffier in the summer of 1854. Provenance: Baldus; Fortune-Joseph Petiot-Groffier. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
