DESCRIPTION:

Signed below the image at the right recto wirh an interesting mounting, including a silver metal foil border. With several salon labels and stamps on the verso. The flowers are both beautiful and deadly. All parts of the tree are poisonous. The yellow flowers are responsible for the old poetic name 'golden chain tree' (also spelled golden chaintree or goldenchain tree). The trees are native to the mountains of southern Europe from France to the Balkan Peninsula. Henry M. Menet was a Paris high school professor who was also an associate of the university and school of medicine. He was a talented amateur photographer and a member of the Société Française de Photographie et de Cinematographie, where he exhibited in 1937, as well as at many other salons of the 1930s. He became president of L'Académie (Nationale) de Reims in 1945, and was re-elected in 1959 and 1960. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
