A 1958 Sidney Lumet-directed remake of the 1933 film "Morning Glory," in which an aspiring young stage actress captures the attention of a dramatist, both for her thespian abilities and for her romance possibilities. But in the process of climbing the ladder of success she steps on everyone she meets along the way until three men who befriend her teach her the meaning of humility. The lucky lady eventually becomes the understudy for the cantankerous lead actress of the playwright's show; when the diva makes a dramatic exit from the production, the starlet gets her big break. The movie stars Henry Fonda, Susan Strasberg, Christopher Plummer, Frank Campanella, Herbert Marshall, Joan Greenwood, Pat Harrington Jr. and Sally Gracie. The interiors for the theater scenes were shot in the National Theater on Broadway. This print was made especially for Warner Brothers' publicist Robert S. Taplinger. This is not the typical still that you see on the market. It is oversized, on good double-weight semi-matt paper (rather than the glossies you usually see) and of high quality; it also passes the blacklight test, all lending credibility to it being made in 1957 with the release of the movie. Provenance: estate of Robert S. Taplinger. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
