DESCRIPTION:Stamp of photographer on recto of print. The number '80' reversed out of the negative. Tears and small missing piece repaired professionally. The image contains a small sculpture, pistols, spears, a shotgun, a shield,a cannon ball, daggers, sword, and many other implements of destruction artifully arranged. Extremely rare print with very good neutral color for Bilordeaux, whose prints are usually found pale and very faded. Bilordeaux, a lithographer, was a student of Le Gray and a founding member of the S.F.P. For more information on him, see Jammes and Janis, The Art of the French Calotype, p.151. Provenance: Francoise Doerr, whose late husband found an important cache of the Bilordeaux. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer.
