G. B. Gething took topographical images around Great Britain from about 1855-57. He was a member of the Newport-Montmouthshire Photographic Club and the Societe Francaise de Photographie. He exhibited at the 1856 Photographic Society - Exhibition of Photographs and Daguerreotypes, the 1857 Photographic Society - Exhibition of Photographs, and the 1857 Deuxieme Exposition Annuelle Oeuvres des Artistes et Amateurs, Societe Francaise de Photographie (12 images in the latter exhibit). Gething's work is included in the collections at the Getty Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the George Eastman House, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Societe Francaise de Photographie.Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer.
