Inscribed Sauvette-13 in an unknown hand in ink and with photographer's early Magnum stamp and reproduction marks, verso.

The negative for this image was later accidentally torn. Cartier-Bresson's printer made a print and retouched it, except for the wall, which looked like a crack. Then even later the wall itself was retouched, and it was recopied reportedly in the late 1960s. The later prints after that time were all made from the copy negative instead of the original one.

Neutral toned print on semi-gloss, double-weight paper, virtually trimmed to edges. Small handling creases across surface, the most substantial towards the left hand edge, all visible in a raking light. Otherwise in very good condition. Glows slightly under black light.
