Duboscq was one of the first to be entranced by the lenticular stereoscope when Brewster introduced it to France in 1850. Janet Buerger quotes Brewster in THE STEREOSCOPE: "Duboscq immediately began to make the lenticular stereoscope for sale, and executed a series of the most beautiful binocular daguerreotypes of living individuals, statues, bouquets of flowers and objects of natural history... ."
See "The French Daguerreotype", Janet Buerger, pp. 101-109 and pp. 214-215, where she notes that Duboscq's work is rare today, with most known examples in the George Eastman House Collection. Please contact the gallery for a quote on shipping and insurance costs.
